The 2nd Annual Taylor County Baby Expo was a HUGE success! We were thrilled to see so many families come out, connect, learn, and leave with helpful resources in hand. Shoutout to our amazing partner agencies for showing up and pouring into our community. It truly takes a village- together we made it a day to remember!

We are pleased to announce new Board members for the Healthy Start Coalition. We are so excited to have them on Board to serve the needs of the maternal and child population in our three counties. They bring a wealth of knowledge from their respective careers in early childhood, health, child welfare, and community engagement. Please join us in welcoming:

Yesterday we kicked off the new year in Taylor County with our first Shared Services meeting of 2026! Our guest speaker was Marquesas Blimes, the Regional Assistive Technology Specialist for FAAST, who shared a very informative presentation on the services they provide. We are so grateful for all who were able to be in attendance.

The Healthy Start Coalition of Jefferson, Madison & Taylor Counties Inc. currently has Board vacancies in both Madison and Taylor Counties. According to our By-Laws our Governing Board is recruited from our Coalition membership. This could be directly or via nominations of other community members.

We are encouraging you to have your voice heard and nominate someone from Madison and/or Taylor Counties that possesses a true passion for children and families, has a deep understanding of our resource-lacking communities and wants to make an awesome contribution. Board members must be residents of the county they represent.

The Coalition is doing some exciting work over the next few years and now is the right time to get involved. We are recruiting new leadership within our team this year and kicking off our Strategic Planning for the next five years of work in maternal and child health. A little late posting but this was such a bittersweet day for everyone at the Coalition as we said “Aloha” to our sweet Cindy Lou-Whoo. She embarked on her well earned and very well deserved retirement. Her 17 years of service to not only the Coalition, but to the communities we serve is an exemplary testament to the woman she is through and through. Though we are sad to see her go, we’re also so excited to see what the future holds for her (we’re thinking lots of beach trips and pool time).🩷

A special thank you to everyone who came together to make this celebration memorable for our girl.
